Super Falcons may have recalled Gift Monday after she was controversially left out of the team, but fresh fears have now been raised about the striker not scoring goals.
The 24-year-old Gift Monday got off to a bright start in the NWSL in the USA, scoring goals for her club Washington Spirit.
However, her goals have since dried up.
A top team official told SCORENigeria: “Yes, she’s back to the Super Falcons, but the problem is that she’s no longer scoring goals, which is what is expected of a striker.”
She started in the recent friendly against Cameroon in Yaounde, but fired blanks as she was marked out of the game.
This weekend, she was again in action for her club in the opening game of the new NWSL season.
She was in action for 64 minutes as Washington fell 1-0 at home to Portland Thorns, who they beat last season 2-0 with Gift among the goals.
