Germany walked out on a Tokyo Olympics warm-up game against Honduras in Japan after Nigerian-born defender Jordan Torunarigha was racially abused by an opponent.
Germany walked out of the tune-up game five minutes from the end following the racial abuse
Germany football federation (DFB) disclosed that Hertha Berlin defender Jordan Torunarigha was racially abused by one of his opponents.
“As soon as one of our players was the victim of an act of racism, the decision was not to continue to play,” said Stefan Kuntz, the coach of the German Olympic team.
Torunarigha was also the victim of the racists in February during a Bundesliga game at Schalke 04 when the home fans made monkey noises which led to the player to cry.
Germany will open their Tokyo Olympics campaign against Brazil.
