German champions Bayer Leverkusen have responded to what many have described as “reckless behaviour” by Victor Boniface.
The Super Eagles striker was caught on social media using his mobile phone while driving at 141 kilometres per hour on a highway that allows for only 120 kilometres.
The player was only recently involved in a car accident in Germany.
Bild newspaper has now got Bayer Leverkusen to respond to the striker’s driving offences.
“We are looking into the matter and checking it. If the incident is confirmed, we will of course speak to Victor about it as soon as possible,” the club told the German newspaper.
“He is not just a role model; it is essentially about not endangering yourself and other people on the road.”
