It has been reported that at least two Premier League clubs offered 25 Million Euros each to sign Gift Orban in the summer transfer window.
According to Knack, Tottenham, Lille OSC and Fulham all wanted to pay up to 25 Million Euros for the striker.
However, Gent owner Baro refused to let the goal machine go.
Financially, however, Gent could have done very good business. The Belgian club wanted 30 Million Euros, according to reports from that period.
The question is whether Baro did not immediately make a wrong decision there. Letting players go at the right time is of course also a quality.
With 20 goals in 22 matches, Gift Orban was on a roll. Performing even better seemed almost impossible.
