Gent coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck has said he still won’t rule out a transfer by sensational striker Gift Orban until the windows in the various leagues close.
The transfer window in Belgium closed Wednesday night, but those of Turkey and Greece will still be open till September 15, while that of Saudi Arabia will shut down tonight.
“We’ll see, there are still a few markets open, so always pay attention,” said Vanhaezebrouck in reference to a last-minute transfer by Gift Orban.
“Will he regret staying? No, he will certainly get many more opportunities to play.”
The newly invited Super Eagles striker came off the bench against Club Brugge and was then substituted after one of their players was sent off.
The Gent coach praised the striker for his professionalism.
“The fact that he started on the bench against Club Brugge is because I have three good strikers,” he explained.
“And the fact that he had to come off after Fadiga’s red card was because Cuypers has a greater range.
“Gift Orban has handled that professionally.”
The 21-year-old striker has been linked to Spurs in the Premier League, Lille in Ligue 1 as well as Sevilla in La Liga.
