Genk coach John Van den Brom has saluted Paul Onuachu scored his second league goal amid speculations about his future.
Onuachu was among the goals as Genk cruised past OH Leuven 4-0 to climb to fourth place on the table.
He has now netted three goals in all competitions after he was also on target in a UEFA Champions League qualifying clash against Shakhtar Donest.
The Genk coach had dropped the striker for not being “ready’, but Onuachu has since bounced back to top reckoning as his future in Genk continues to be a public discussion.
Van den Brom said after the convincing home win against OH Leuven that the Super Eagles star has been a professional, while also commenting on the player’s future.
“Whether Onuachu will still be with us after the summer transfer window? So far, so good. When you see how much passion, mentality and quality he plays with… That also applies to Ito and Bongonda.” Van den Brom told Sporza
“The golden trio is back where it left off last season and I hope it stays that way for a long time, but that’s not up to me.”
Genk have said they are yet to receive a formal bid for Onuachu, who scored 35 goals in Belgium last season.
The 27-year-old striker still has three years left on his contract and has a transfer market value of 20 Million Euros.
