Galatasaray will not feature Victor Osimhen in this weekend’s league game against Eyupspor so that the injured striker gets a fighting chance to play in their opening UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Milliyet newspaper reported that Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk will select Baris Alper Yilmaz to lead his attack in the Super Lig clash against Eyupspor with Mauro Icardi also unfit.
Osimhen has already touched down in Istanbul after his club pressured him to return for further examination after he was injured in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Uyo last weekend.
His return to Turkey ruled him out of today’s all-important World Cup qualifier in South Africa.
