The Super Eagles, who are now complete for tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic after goalkeeper Maduka Okoye landed, will train today behind closed doors at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Late arrival may cost Okoye a starting XI shirt and so give Francis Uzoho or Daniel Akpeyi a chance to prove what they can do in goal.
The Eagles will be without Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Terem Moffi, Alex Iwobi due to injury.
Coach Gernot Rohr has also handed a chance to uncapped Taiwo Awoniyi and Calvin Bassey.
Awoniyi has so far scored 12 goals in all competitions for his Bundesliga club Union Berlin, while Bassey from Scottish champions Rangers is a versatile defender, who could play at leftback or central defence.
Rohr himself must be upbeat after he was reportedly paid five months’ salary.
He has not been paid for eight months.
Nigeria top Group C with six points from two matches, while CAR have a point.
Both teams will play again in Douala, Cameroon, on Sunday in continuation of the qualifying series for Qatar 2022.
