Frank Onyeka does not only have a new nickname ‘The Tank’, but he also already has a special song from the adoring Brentford fans, who cannot wait for tonight’s Premier League opener against fellow Londoners Arsenal.
It’s a long wait of 74 years for ‘The Bees’ to play in the English top flight.
The fans are even now more upbeat they can stay up at the end of the season with the help of their new, energetic Nigeria signing from Danish club FC Midtjylland.
Onyeka scored in pre-season and the fans of his new club have been even more lyrical about their chances.
“Not many would have heard about him, but he’s a Duracell-type player who runs for the entire 90 minutes and brings energy to the team,” praised Billy Grant, who has a regular podcast for his beloved Brentford.
“He even now has his own song.”
Despite all the excitement, the West London club are widely tipped to be relegated to the Championship by season’s end.
“We’re happy to be in the Premier League,” added Grant, who said ‘The Bees’ play good, expansive football with great wingbacks.
“We will still be here next season.”
