Serie A football attracts millions of die-hard fans from around the world. Offering a combination of raw talent, fast-paced excitement and some of the most well-known personalities in existence, legends are born every generation. However, we also need to remember that many players are just as passionate about other hobbies while not on the pitch. This is particularly relevant when discussing casino games. Let’s take a look at some immortal names as well as what types of games they enjoy.

Gianluigi Buffon

Buffon is currently considered to be one of the best goalkeepers to have ever played Serie A football. Were you aware that this powerhouse is also an avid poker player? Buffon is a regular within brick-and-mortar establishments as well as their digital counterparts. Although he does not normally play for large sums of money, there is little doubt that he enjoyed the action when he wasn’t between the goal posts… and now that he has definitely retired.

Mario Balotelli

This next Serie A footballer, known for his charisma both on and off the pitch, is no stranger to the spotlight. Mario Balotelli, as much as he enjoys the attention of the press for his footballing exploits, also finds excitement in the world of online gaming. His affinity for high-energy, skill-based games like blackjack resonates well with his dynamic presence on the football field.

Balotelli’s inclination towards blackjack it’s a reflection of his competitive spirit, mirroring the strategic thinking and quick decision-making skills he displays in football. His notable win of €25,000 euros in a game of roulette back in 2011 is a testament to this. The crossover of skills and thrills between the football pitch and the blackjack table highlights an interesting facet of a footballer’s life – seeking variety and excitement in different arenas, yet always driven by the same passion and competitive spirit.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

While not an Italian by birth, Ibrahimovic has been a Serie A mainstay for more than a decade. When not scoring goals or assisting his teammates, it is said that he also enjoys online casino games. Experts observe that Ibrahjimovic has a particular fondness for Swedish casino operators; a benefit that has surely not been lost on these providers.

Francesco Totti

It can be argued that Francesco Totti is the most famous footballer player that Rome has ever produced. From his 2006 World Cup win to a Serie A trophy, Totti is a legend in his own right. This is why it is just as interesting to learn that Totti also enjoys the fast-paced nature of digital casinos. We doubt that this is primarily meant to serve as a supplemental form of income. On the contrary, Totti is an active promoter of several platforms and he has done wonders for the world of virtual casinos.

Serie A football is at least partially defined by the personalities outlined above. Still, footballers cannot remain on the pitch at all times. This is why welcome distractions such as casino games represent excellent options at their disposal. The good news is that you do not have to possess the talents of these personalities to get in on the action!
