Egypt U20 coach has praised the Flying Eagles after they beat his team in a warm-up game ahead of Sunday’s kick-off of the 2025 U20 AFCON in Cairo.
The Flying Eagles beat the U20 AFCON hosts 2-1 Tuesday.
Egypt coach Osama Nabih described the Nigerian team as “strong and organised”.
“We faced a strong and organised team. Our players presented a strong and useful experience in all technical, tactical and physical aspects,” the coach remarked.
“The Pharaohs could have won, but they wasted many scoring opportunities until their opponent scored their second goal from a penalty kick at a difficult time and six minutes before the end of the match.”
Nabih said that most of his players were playing at Cairo Stadium for the first time and benefited greatly from this ahead of the opening match of the African Championship Sunday against South Africa.
“They performed well, reciprocating their opponents’ strength, pressure and quick attacks,” he added.
