Rosenborg defender Igho Ogbu has backed the Flying Eagles to go all the way to the final of the 2019 U20 World Cup in Poland despite a stuttering start to the campaign.
“We can go to the final,” predicted a confident Ogbu, who played his first game at the tournament against Ukraine.
“I have a strong belief and trust in this team and we have worked so hard.”
However, the Flying Eagles have to go past fellow West Africans Senegal tonight in Lodz to stay alive at this World Cup.
Tough-tackling central defender Ogbu said he expects a physical contest.
“It will be a tough, physical game because we’re two strong African teams, but we are ready,” he assured.
Akwa United winger or midfielder Aniekeme Okon said Nigeria will triumph tonight.
“We clashed at the WAFU Cup, where they beat us 2-0, but we will be victorious this time,” he vowed.
Kick-off time tonight in Lodz is 7.30pm Nigerian time.
