The Flying Eagles will now set up training camp in Argentina ahead of the U20 World Cup after a proposed training tour of Spain was called off, SCORENigeria has learnt.
The Spain tour was called off because of logistical challenges as well as the short time to put it together, officials said.
It was therefore decided for the team to enjoy an extended stay in Argentina especially because of the long travel hours to South America and for them to acclimatize in time for the big kick-off on May 20.
The team are now set to depart first week of next month even though it is unclear whether they will embark on the trip to Argentina will a final 21-man squad or an enlarged party.
The Flying Eagles will open their U20 World Cup campaign on May 21 in Mendoza against Dominican Republic.
Five-time champions Brazil and Italy are also in this first round group.
