The Flying Eagles have played out a 2-2 draw with Argentine team Club Almirante Brown in a test match ahead of next week’s U20 World Cup.
Striker Salim Fago and Tochukwu Nnadi scored for the Flying Eagles.
Jonathan Zacaria scored a brace for the Buenos Aires-based club in a match that was played at the Flying Eagles training base, the Howard Johnson sports complex, late Friday.
The Flying Eagles were captained by fit-again Daniel Daga in the absence of Daniel Bemeyi with coach Ladan Bosso lining up a strong starting XI.
Nathaniel Nwosu was in goal with Abel Ogwuchi and Benjamin Frederick as central defenders with Solomon Agbalaka and Augustine Njoku as fullbacks.
Daga, Ibrahim Abdullahi and Tochukwu Nnadi started in midfield.
Salem Fago led the attack alongside wingers Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ and Jude Sunday.
The team will play a second friendly on Tuesday against their Colombian counterparts.
Kick-off time is 8pm in Nigeria.
Officials said the following day team will depart Buenos Aires for Mendoza, where they will open their World Cup campaign on Sunday, May 21, against the Dominican Republic.
