Coach Bankole Olowookere has promised that the Flamingoes will set more records at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India.
The team became the first from Nigeria to go beyond the quarterfinal of the competition.
They are the first African team to achieve this feat.
Victory today against Colombia in Goa will make Olowookere’s team to further improve on these milestones.
“We will break more records,” Olowookere said ahead of this clash.
“We want to get to the final and as such we have to go past Colombia.”
The team have been boosted by the presence of NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, who has approved additional financial incentives for the girls.
Striker Amina Bello has been certified fit for this match after injury forced her out in the quarterfinal against the USA.
The winners between Nigeria and Colombia will take on the winners between reigning world champions Spain and European champions Germany in Sunday’s Final in Navi Mumbai.
Kick-off time today is 12 noon in Nigeria.
