Chances of ‘Simy’ Nwankwo joining Fiorentina are fading fast, according to various media reports out of Italy.
Fiorentina are one of several Serie A clubs reported to be interested in the striker, who fired 20 goals last season for relegated Crotone.
Dusan Vlahovic is the club’s top choice centre-forward after he exploded by scoring 21 goals and provided two assists last season.
And ‘Simy’, who fell a goal short of matching the record of best African goals record in Serie A (Samuel Eto, 2010-2011 season), can only get a look-in should Fiorentina cash in on the Serbian striker with a big transfer.
Experts said even with their resources Fiorentina cannot afford to drop the Super Eagles striker to the bench as an understudy for Vlahovic.
