The FCT Football Federation (FA) led by Adam Mouktar Mohammed have tasked the newly-elected NFF Executive Committee led by President Ibrahim Gusau to restore the lost glory of Nigeria football.
In a congratulatory message, the Chairman of ‘The Capital FA’ said the Elections were keenly fought and the winners now have the mandate of not only the NFF Congress, but also over 200 Million Nigerians as they begin the journey to chart a new course for football in the country.
“We congratulate the NFF Executive Committee led by President Ibrahim Gusau following their election in Benin City,” Mouktar Mohammed said.
“The NFF Congress has spoken loud and clear on behalf of over 200 Million Nigerians who are very passionate about football.
“For the next four years the new President and his Executives are saddled with the responsibility of getting Nigeria Football back to winning ways, both on the pitch and the boardroom.
“It will not be an easy task, but with the support of the Federal Government of Nigeria and all critical Stakeholders as well as Nigerians in general, we believe they will live up to expectations.”
Adam Mouktar Mohammed admitted that the task ahead is huge and daunting, but with a clear vision, commitment and support of all Stakeholders, the new NFF Executive Committee will justify the confidence they enjoy from the NFF Congress.
“To manage football, whether at national or state level is not an easy one because we have millions of administrators and coaches, who believe they have the best ideas to lift the sport in the country,” he said.
“But rather than criticisms to deter you, they should push you to prove critics wrong by delivering on the promises you made during your electioneering campaigns.
“Football is the national sport and we as administrators are only holding this in trust for 200 million Nigerians and as such we cannot afford to let them down.”
