Zaidu Sanusi was very close to a loan switch to Turkish giants Fenerbache this week, but media reports have now said the FC Porto coach stopped the deal.
Porto coach Sergio Conceicao said Zaidu will still play an important role for his team and as such he blocked a move away for the Nigeria defender.
Zaidu is set for less involvement with the Porto first team following the arrival of Wendell from German club Bayer Leverkusen.
The Kebbi-born ace was also criticised by Porto fans for some indifferent performances lately.
The Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will go on to say the leftback will leave Porto so as to get more game time elsewhere.
Besides Fenerbache, Zaidu was also linked with Premier League club West Ham during the summer transfer window.
