Falconets of Nigeria will tonight take on Netherlands for a chance to battle Spain in the semifinal of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
Falconets brushed past Canada 3-1 in a final Group C clash to finish top of the standings with a perfect record of three wins in as many matches.
They face a tough game against the Dutch, who dumped Ghana 4-1 in their final first round game to finish second in Group D behind Japan.
The Falconets will come face-to-face with the Netherlands leftback Nina Iyobosa Nijstad, whose father is Nigerian.
Kick-off tonight is 11.30pm in Nigeria.
Spain, beaten finalists in 2018, await the winners of this clash after they already booked their semifinal place by beating Mexico 1-0 in the first quarterfinal of the tournament.
Brazil also reached the last four on the other half of the draw when they stopped fellow South Americans Colombia 1-0.
They await the winners of the other quarterfinal between Japan and France.
