While Nigeria football is groaning under paucity of funds, it can be revealed that the top bosses of the NFF have made themselves FAT CATS by paying themselves hefty salaries.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), a parastatal supposedly under the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, but which has been hijacked by interlopers and opportunists led by Amaju Pinnick and continues to rape and loot the country’s football treasury.
Under the immediate past president of NFF, Aminu Maigari, Musa Amadu was General Secretary, a position he ran efficiently, breathing life into the glass house and maintaining same standards set by veterans like late Patrick Okpomo, Sani Toro, Taiwo Ogunjobi of blessed memory and Ambassador Fanny Amun (MON).
From what the National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF) gathered Musa Amadu as general secretary never earned more than 300,000 Naira monthly as salary in line with the civil service structure.
However, Musa Amadu was later schemed out because he refused to be compromised as a conduit pipe to siphon public funds and Mohammed Sanusi has since 2016 placed himself on a monthly salary of 3.6m Naira.
Only recently his term was extended for another five years.
On his part the crowned prince of NFF after Amaju Pinnick’s third term ambitions, Shehu Dikko the chairman of the League Management Company( LMC) who has unlimited access to the sponsorship funds of the NPFL which he has successfully ran aground grosses over five million Naira as monthly salary apart from other pecks of office and the free diversion and laundering of the NPFL funds.
His deputy or Chief Executive Officer, Salisu Abubakar, takes home 1.5 million Naira every month.
Former helmsmen of the Nigeria professional league like Davidson Owumi and Victor Baribote took home 300,000 Naira monthly.
This is as checks have revealed that the handful of LMC office staffers have not been paid since February 2020.
And also while other leagues around the world have offered their clubs palliatives to cushion the adverse effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the LMC has been mute on what assistance it can render to the 20 clubs under its watch.
The NANF has always maintained that the mission of the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board is to steal, kill and destroy Nigeria football.
