Former international and now a top television pundit Marc Degryse has predicted the winner of the Golden Shoe in Belgium will again not be Paul Onuachu.
Onuachu finished top scorer in the Belgian league with 33 goals last season and he has already been named the Professional Footballer of the Year.
He won the winners’ medal in the Belgium Cup as well as clinched the Ebony Boot awarded to the best African player in Belgium.
He also finished third in last year’s Golden Shoe nomination.
However, Degryse said the giant striker will still not win the prestigious award, which is voted by the players themselves every calendar year, despite his array of awards.
He rather tipped Noa Lang of Club Brugge, who posted some great stats and has played some great football, as the next winner of the Golden Shoe.
