Super Eagles call-up Cyriel Dessers may have finished as top scorer in Holland, but a top expert has said he has his fears the striker will not fire the goals when he joins up with Genk in Belgium.
Dessers has agreed a four-year contract with Genk, who have splashed four million Euros for him from Dutch club Heracles.
The contract will kick in on July 1.
This was after the 25-year-old striker finished joint top scorer in Holland on 15 goals.
However, football expert Eddy Snelders told Krant van West-Vlaanderen that even with due respect to his goals in Holland, there is no guarantee he will shine back in Belgium because he also struggled at previous Belgian clubs before he headed out to Holland.
The expert also said Genk failed to successfully defend their championship this past season and the pressure to redeem themselves could also work against their new striker.
Dessers, who is set to be capped by the Super Eagles, is expected to form a strike force with another Nigeria star, Paul Onuachu, at Genk for the coming season.
