SCORENigeria can exclusively report that top Belgian side Club Brugge have renewed their interest for Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga after English club Watford appear to have backed down on the player.
Club Brugge were one of several clubs in the chase for the highly-rated Flying Eagles defensive midfielder, before Watford appeared to have won the race for the player with an audacious offer.
The Daga camp have now alerted Club Brugge among other clubs that they are open to discuss a transfer for the player, who will only be 17 in January 2024.
The hefty asking price by Daga’s local club is believed to have scared several top suitors including Milan giants, AC and Inter.
Daga burst to limelight at last year’s WAFU qualifiers for the U20 AFCON in Niger.
However, injury in the opening game against Senegal meant he did not play again at this year’s U20 AFCON in Egypt.
He was solid and played beyond his tender years at the U20 FIFA World Cup in Argentina, where the Flying Eagles reached the Round of 16 after wins over the host nation and Italy.
