Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has again been left out of Super Eagles action today as he is now battling to be fit for the AFCON after he picked up an injury in training in Dubai.
It is a muscular injury, a source informed SCORENigeria
Victor Boniface did not feature in Sunday’s training match against local Dubai club Al Gharib and he will also not feature in a final AFCON warm-up against Guinea later today.
SCORENigeria gathered that Victor Boniface has since undergone a scan to determine the severity of the injury.
In the striker’s absence, coach Jose Peseiro started Real Sociedad striker Sadiq Umar.
It must also be noted that the fourth striker on the final squad, Kelechi Iheanacho, is sweating to be fit for the AFCON.
