Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is set to freshen his squad for next month’s crucial 2026 World Cup Playoffs by calling up as many as three new players.
A top source simply told SCORENigeria: “There will be a few new faces in the Super Eagles squad for the Playoffs in Morocco.
“The coach says there’s a need for competition for places.
“He’s also worried about the goalkeeping situation going by what has been going on to (Stanley) Nwabali.”
The identities of the new players are yet to be ascertained.
But since he took charge of the Super Eagles in January, Eric Chelle has capped several players – Felix Agu, Uche Chrisantus, Benjamin Fredrick, Jerome Akor, Tolu Arokodare and Ola Olusegun.
He is therefore not afraid to give new players a chance.
The 2026 World Cup Playoffs in Morocco will begin on November 13 and will also feature Gabon, DR Congo and Cameroon.
