Striker Terem Moffi will miss the Super Eagles opening AFCON Group A match against Equatorial Guinea following an agreement reached between his Ligue 1 club and the NFF.
Moffi was a late replacement for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, who has been ruled out of the AFCON on account of a groin injury.
“Terem will only leave for the Super Eagles camp (in Cote d’Ivoire) Sunday after he has played for his club Nice in a league game against Rennes,” a source close to the player told only SCORENigeria
“That was the agreement his club reached with the NFF.”
SCORENigeria further learnt that Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho will also join the Eagles squad in Abidjan.
Coach Jose Peseiro said Iheanacho has completed his recovery from a muscular injury and he is ready for the tournament.
Nigeria will open their AFCON campaign Sunday against Equatorial Guinea.
Kick-off time is 3pm.
