SCORENigeria can exclusively reveal that top officials of world club champions Bayern Munich have been left fuming after a team purportedly representing them were crushed 5-1 by the Golden Eaglets in a friendly.
Angry Bayern officials said such a heavy loss can only harm the top brand they have built over many years.
All six goals in this friendly were scored in the second half after a goalless first half.
Striker Ahmed Abdullahi netted a brace for the Golden Eaglets, who are preparing for next month’s U17 AFCON in Morocco where they are drawn against Tanzania, Algeria and Congo.
“Bayern did not find it amusing that the selection carrying their name lost by such heavy scoreline and they made this known to the handlers of the team,” a top source told SCORENigeria
Super Eagles and former Bayern Munich defender Gernot Rohr attended the friendly played in Abuja.
He has also been part of their events over the years.
