More support has continued to pour in for Super Eagles newly appointed coach Eric Chelle with the latest coming from former Super Eagles stars.
Tijjani Babangida, who featured at the 1998 World Cup in France, said going by the Super Eagles poor run in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, it will be mountain to climb for Nigeria to qualify for the Mundial, but it was also crucial all hands are on deck to turn things around.
“We should support the new coach, wish him well and see that we qualify for the World Cup,” Babangida said.
“We have our backs to the wall now, let’s see what the boys can do.
“We’re in a difficult situation, but I also know that Nigerians always bounce back.”
Another former international, Brown Ideye, also canvassed support for the new Super Eagles boss.
“He has been appointed and we will give him our support,” he said.
“Let’s give him a chance because I believe we can turn things around.
“The players must also do their best for us to qualify.
“Nigeria must not miss this World Cup.”
