The former Nigeria U23 captain and Super Eagles forward Promise Isaac died Wednesday night, according to his last club Austin Bold FC in the United States of America.
He collapsed at his apartment gym in Austin, Texas.
The 31-year-old forward captained Nigeria at the 2008 summer Olympics in China and also played for the Eagles under the tutelage of coach Samson Siasia.
He also captained Nigeria U17s in 2003 and also the U20s in 2005.
Before his sudden demise, he played for Austin Bold FC of America in the UCL championship.
Isaac professionally played for 14 seasons most of which was in Turkey. He scored a total of 77 club goals during his career.
