Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has had no contact or offer from Olympique Marseille and he does not have the permission of his employers, the NFF, to discuss with any club, a source who should know has informed SCORENigeria

“Habib Beye is the favourite to be named as the new coach of Marseille.
“The only reason why he has not yet been appointed has to be with the little issue of Rennes losing to Marseille 3-0 before he left Rennes. That is now being investigated to know whether Habib Beye was already talking with Marseille before he left Rennes.”
In January 2025, Eric Chelle signed a two-year contract with the NFF having the option to extend it by a further year.
