Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has regretted that the CHAN Eagles played under massive pressure and this cost the team a ticket to the quarterfinal of the 2024 CHAN.
The CHAN Eagles were superior to Congo in a final group game of the 2024 CHAN, but it was too little, too late after they lost their first two group games.
“They were under immense pressure and some times played scared,” Eric Chelle said.
“But against Congo, they responded positively and showed resilience.
“They played with honour and showed whst they could really do.
“Our only big regret remains the heavy defeat to Sudan, but that’s football.”
The CHAN Eagles will return to Nigeria tomorrow.
