SCORENigeria has unmasked the real personality of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle as he gets set to qualify Nigeria to the 2026 World Cup via the Playoffs.
The former Mali coach has been in charge of the Super Eagles since January during which time he garnered 14 points out of a possible 18 points to give Nigeria a lifeline to next year’s Mundial.
An inside source in the Super Eagles has now given a detailed personality sketch of the 47-year-old coach.
“He is a cheerful, very friendly and approachable man, who at the same time is brutal,” the source informed SCORENigeria
“He always tells both players and officials that he is no longer your friend when you’re inside the pitch, he expects everyone to do his job because that is the only way the team can get results.
“He is also a very good listener even on technical issues as he believes he can also learn and could also miss out on some finer details.
“He really wishes to succeed particularly after the initial doubts that greeted his appointment in January.”
The source added: “Eric has built a strong family bond in the team and so gossips are easily shamed.
“He will only work with those who will bring value to the team.
“When the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup, he will certainly be one of the main reasons they did so against all the odds.”
