Elated goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has celebrated his fifth NPFL championship medal with Enyimba and told SCORENigeria he has paid his dues in the league.
“I won the league four times with Kano Pillars – in 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014 – and now I have won it again with Enyinba for the fifth time. I return the glory to God,” celebrated Afelokhai, who has been capped by Nigeria at U23 level.
“This is my 14th season in the NPFL. I have won the league on five occasions and I have played in the semi-final of CAF Champions League with Kano Pillars and also the semi-final of CAF Confederation Cup with Enyimba.
“So, it is safe to say that I have paid my dues in the NPFL.”
Enyimba Wednesday night in Lagos claimed a record eighth league crown when they topped the NPFL championship playoffs with 12 points from five matches ahead of Kano Pillars, who recorded 11 points.
