Two-time African champions Enyimba have crashed out of this year’s CAF Champions League after they lost 1-0 to hosts Al Hilal of Sudan tonight.
Al Hilal netted the all-important winner in the second half at home to go through 1-0 on aggregate after they had held Enyimba to a scoreless draw in Aba.
The eight-time Nigeria champions were not cohesive as they struggled to put passes together in Sudan.
Enyimba will now drop down to the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs.
Enugu Rangers are the other team in the Confederation Cup playoffs after they eliminated AS Pelican of Gabon 4-3 on aggregate today in Enugu.
