NPFL defending champions Enugu Rangers began their CAF Champions League quest on a rather shaky note when they were forced to a 1-1 draw by visiting AS Sobemap of Benin Republic in Abeokuta today.
Rangers went in front in the 32nd minute through defender Chidozie Iwundu.
However, Benin champions Sobemap drew level in the 48th minute courtesy of Emmanuel Ali, who put away a cross by Gratien Houndo.
It was an all-important away goal for the team from Benin ahead of the return leg Friday.
