English League Two side Grimsby Town have released Moses Ogbu by mutual consent so that he could reunite with his family in Nigeria and be happy again.
Manager Ian Holloway explained that he felt the best thing for Ogbu would be to move on from the club and return home.
“I believe that he needs to go back to where he came from and see if he can be happy again”, Holloway said.
“The boy took it brilliantly. He admitted that he hasn’t seen his family in Nigeria for over a year, so we had a big hug at the end of it and I told the lads that.”
Moses went on to make a total of 25 appearances, scoring four goals in his short spell at The Mariners.
He joined the English club on a year’s deal last summer.
He played in Sweden since 2009 and also holds a Swedish passport.
