Emmanuel Dennis has warned that even though his team Club Brugge have an eight-point lead at the top of the league in Belgium, they have not yet been crowned champions.
Club Brugge top the standings with 46 points from 19 matches, eight points clear of closest rivals Antwerp, who have played a game more.
“The season is still very long. We finish 2019 in first place, that’s a good thing. But after the New Year it really only starts and in the playoffs everything can still happen,” Dennis cautioned.
Two seasons ago, Club Brugge were crowned champions with their Nigeria star playing an important role.
On Sunday night, Club Brugge were forced to a 1-1 draw by home team KAA Gent in continuation of the league.
Dennis scored his fifth league goal of the season after 57 minutes, before Gent fought back to earn a draw.
