Emmanuel Dennis scored the first goal of his second spell with Watford in a 2-1 home loss to English Championship leaders Leicester City, but the forward said he would have been happier if his team had won.
“I want three points. Three points would make me happy, I haven’t had three points since I came, so I will be looking forward to winning,” said Dennis.
“I don’t care about my goal, a goal’s a goal. I’m always going to score goals, I want three points and getting back to winning ways will make me happy. We’re going to get there soon.”
He praised the team spirit.
“I liked the team spirit. We’re always going to go like this until the end of the season. Now it’s time to recover, go again, give everything and keep fighting to the end.
“We showed really great character, we played really good in the duels. We just missed a tiny bit to score goals, to create more chances. But I think it’s going to come. The group is really good, the players have been training well and we just have to keep this direction and keep going.
“The first 10 minutes, an injury and a penalty, wasn’t good for the team but the boys kept their head up and kept going. That’s football, stuff like that happens”.
