Landon Emenalo, the son of former Super Eagles defender Michael Emenalo, will now play for Scottish champions Celtic on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
Left-back Emenalo Jnr will be the back-up for Scotland star Kieren Tierney.
Concerns were previously raised about the fitness of Emenalo.
Landon Emenalo was signed for the Chelsea youth teams when his father was sporting director of the Premier League club.
Emenalo senior played at leftback for the Super Eagles at the 1994 World Cup.
