The father of Super Eagles invitee Jordan Torunarigha has claimed that captain William Ekong was not fit to play for the Super Eagles in crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Ojokojo Torunarigha, a midfielder in his hey days who won 12 caps for the Super Eagles, has stirred controversy after he claimed captain William Ekong was not fit to play the recent World Cup qualifiers.
“Ekong was injured, he only played because he was captain,” he told Blast FM
“Unfit players should be kept aside.
“Were he fit, we would not have conceded the goal against Zimbabwe.”
