Emmanuel Ekong, the son of former Super Eagles star Prince Ikpe Ekong, has said he is excited to join Swedish champions Malmo FF because they “always play to win”.
Ekong, 22, has signed a five-year contract after he completed his transfer from Serie A club Empoli.
“It feels great to finally be there, I’ve been longing for this. I feel that this is absolutely the right step for me considering the ambitions Malmö FF has and I want to be part of a journey with a team that always plays to win,” the forward said.
“It will be fun and exciting to play Swedish football again.
“I think the team’s way of playing will suit me well, I am fast, technical and like to challenge.
“I hope to score a lot of points and help the team. I know I’m going to a good club, everyone I’ve talked to has told me that. I look forward to winning titles and playing in front of nice and passionate supporters in Malmö.”
