Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has justified his first-ever start for Antwerp with a very impressive display.
Antwerp pipped OH Leuven at the weekend with Ejuke a stand-out performer for the Belgian champions.
This was Ejuke’s first start after 10 appearances as a sub.
He played on the left flank and most of Antwerp dangerous attacks in the first half came from that position.
Ejuke dribbled freely, had 5 successful dribbles, but above all 56 of his 59 passes found a teammate. In total he had 85 ball touches, making him ubiquitous. No one in midfield or in Antwerp’s attack had so many ball touches and passes.
The CSKA Moscow loanee and Mikel Balikwisha are the champions’ best players at the moment and it is now left to see whether coach Mark van Bommel will continue to start the two of them at the same time.
