The Flying Eagles will return to Egypt for the U20 AFCON after CAF announced this year’s competition will again be staged by the country.
Egypt also hosted the competition in 2023.
This followed the withdrawal this week of Cote d’Ivoire as hosts of the tournament.
CAF further announced that the competition will be played as scgeduled with the opening game on April 27 in Cairo to dispel any fears that the tournament kick-off will be shifted.
The host nation are drawn against the Flying Eagles, Morocco and South Africa in a tough-looking first round group.
The semifinalists of the biennial competition will fly Africa’s flag at the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile from October.
