Caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has maintained that the Super Eagles will stick with a 3-4-3 formation that served them well at the 2023 AFCON in February.
Eguavoen, who is also the technical director of the NFF, said the short time the national team have to prepare for games means one is forced to stick to what the team are used to.
“That formation (3-4-3) is what the team are used to right now and it will not be right to change it in the middle of a tournament,” Eguavoen explained.
“Often the team have only three, four training sessions before a game, that’s difficult to introduce a new formation.”
Eguavoen deployed the 3-4-3 formation for the Super Eagles to fly past Benin 0-0, before they were held to a goalless draw in Rwanda Tuesday.
