A top official of the Ghana Black Stars has dismissed rumours that coach Augustine Eguavoen is being considered for the team’s top coaching post.
Rumours linking the NFF technical director with the top coaching position of the Ghana national team first emerged on various social media platforms late Wednesday.
A letter purportedly signed by Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Oraku offering Eguavoen was even circulating on X.
However, a top Black Stars official has now told SCORENigeria there is no truth is these speculations.
“There no truth in that story,” the official outrightly dismissed the rumour.
Eguavoen qualified the Super Eagles to the 2025 AFCON as interim coach.
The NFF have since appointed former Mali coach Eric Chelle to lead the Super Eagles for the remaining 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which resume in March.
