The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have reduced year ban they imposed on Enyimba skipper Austin Oladapo for using performance-enhancing substance following an appeal.
Oladapo can return to football action by January 4, 2022, CAF announced.
The initial ban would have meant the midfielder will only return by July 2022.
“The board has decided to reduce the sanction of player Oladapo Augustine from one year to six months,” according to a statement by the CAF appeals committee.
Oladapo claimed he was treating Coronavirus symptoms when he tested positive.
He netted four goals in last year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
