DR Congo and Uganda are now the direct rivals of the Super Eagles for a place in the 2026 World Cup playoffs going by the latest results in the qualifying tournament.
Gabon lead the table of the second-best team of the qualifiers with 16 points from seven matches and so are assured of a spot in next month’s playoffs fixed for Morocco.
Cameroon are second on this table with 15 points with a healthy +9 goals’ difference, while Burkina Faso are third also with 15 points but a +6 goals’ difference.
