Ghana should not be shattered should they failed to go past the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2022 World Cup because the Black Stars don’t have a team, according to former star Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.
Ghana and arch-rivals Nigeria will come face-to-face over two legs between March 23 and 29 for a place at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
Both teams crashed out of the on-going AFCON in Cameroon in the early rounds of the tournament.
Agyemang-Badu said Ghana must start rebuilding the Black Stars and they should not be troubled if they failed to qualify for the World Cup.
“The team has collapsed,” stated Agyemang-Badu, who played at the 2010 and 2015 AFCONs.
“We have a lot of individual talents, but we simply don’t have a team.
“Let’s go for a development plan. If we qualify for the World Cup, fine.
“If we don’t, we shouldn’t be worried.
“Let’s build from the scratch and stop comparing the past teams with the current one.
“If we keep relying on the old team, then we have a long way to go.”
On Wednesday, Ghana officially sacked coach Milovan Rajevac, who led them to their most disastrous AFCON ever.
