Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers could well stage a surprise comeback from injury in tomorrow night’s UEFA Champions League playoff against Club Brugge.
Rangers boss said the 30-year-old Dessers will return to action much sooner than previously expected because the ankle injury he suffered in the previous round of the Champions League qualifiers at Viktoria Plzen is not as serious as first feared.
Rangers manager Russell Martin told Sporza: “He’s the only player with a question mark. His injury isn’t as serious as expected, and he’s recovering well. If he doesn’t play on Tuesday (tomorrow), he’ll make his comeback this weekend.”
The winners of this playoff will advance to the money-spinning group phase of the Champions League.
