Cyriel Dessers has continued to shine, while Paul Onuachu was also in action for Genk as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Dutch side AZ Alkmaar ahead of this weekend’s Belgium Super Cup against Club Brugge.
Dessers opened scoring for Genk 15 minutes from time, when he got to the end of a long ball before he rounded up an exposed goalkeeper to score.
Belgian league Goal King Onuachu, who continues to be a top transfer target, was also in action for the Belgian club.
He has so far been linked with clubs in the Premier League and Ligue 1.
Genk won the Belgium Cup last season and will on Saturday do battle with league champions Club Brugge for the prestigious Belgium Super Cup.
